Happy Independence Day (weekend)

You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness.  You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.

From our family to yours - have a fabulous Fourth of July weekend! To celebrate this year, I think I'm going to have a little chat with Linda about "...what wives are for!" I think it's finally time I declare my independence from being chained to the stove every night. Then again, I sure would hate to go without my Starbuck's venti iced mocha allowance. Thanks to my sis for sending this old advertisement and giving me the incentive I need to hang up my apron!
